The Berkley Shimma Fork proved to be an above-par performer on snapper across the ditch after its initial release a year ago.
After some rigorous New Zealand testing which took the snapper’s gnarly, forceful jaws into full consideration, some tuning of the terminals was required to make sure even the biggest reds made it to the boat. With a hook upgrade from trebles to Owner S-125M singles, the Shimma Big Red is ready for action this side of the Tasman. Keeping the original Shimma Fork fish catching action and profile, the Big Red is tuned to tackle the gnarliest reef species, including snapper and kingfish. It’s 120mm long and available in five colours.
Distributed by Pure Fishing NZ and available wherever good tackle is sold.
