2007 Marlin Season

Well, what can one say except where were the Marlin this year. Our club scales certainly weren't overworked this year. The grand total of marlin weighed on our scales was 16, and no that is not a misprint. In additon to this we had one tag card handed in. One would hope that next year can only bring a better season.

We have decided to introduce a Land Based catergory  which will start at the beginning of the new season on the 1st July. As we have a large number of keen anglers in our area that don't have the use of a boat we are hoping to encourage them to join the club and participate in our planned social fishing tournaments during the year.

The latest news for the club is that our bid to host the 2009 New Zealand Big Game Fishing Council AGM and Conference has been successful. We look forward to having the committee, delegates and partners in our area to sample the local hospitality.
