Knots - crimps vs knots

If you're new to fishing, you are getting older or you are just not sure how to tie good knots then consider using crimps.

After making up traces and rigs for many years (and losing the occasional fish due to knots coming undone) I have started to use crimps and have found them to be very effective. It takes less time to make up rigs and they do not come apart when tested by big fish.

Properly crimped terminal tackle will retain close to 100% of the lineweight whereas a poorly tied knot can halve the effective lineweight. Crimps are a more expensive option however and take a bit more time.
