You have to cross the river in makara and walk for 1hr 30ish and take as much berly as possible, usual coastal suspects........ Blue cod, turks, kahawai, mackeral, john dory, snaps, kings, warehou etc.

Anything can happen at boom, anything at all! even nothing at all!Ouch

Sleeping quarters is the cave next to boom. Take a foam mat if you want a good sleep!

This is boom

This is the cave you sleep in..

The cave from boom. Note the stream you have to cross. You have to clamber around the outside of the rocks if its hi tide.

The stream you have to climb around to get to boom if its high tide. You can still walk across the stream if you want to get soaked.Big smile

Arm chair rock, next to boom, accessable by goat track up the hill, good for trevs....

Or just park ya boat in the back of boomLOL

By the way mutant bugs come out at night so be sure to take insect barrier spray cause it keeps them away all night!

wow nice pics little buddy... u forgot to tell him the "river" u have to cross at north end of makara... if u go there at low tide u can almost jump across LOL sorry till kill ur fun of clambering around the rocks... good fun tho going to boom, def an over nighter place and as much burley as u can carry, dont worry much about bait, a squid tube and sabiki will get ya bait... its a long walk 1.5-.1.75hrs from makara over rocks and expected coastal tail... easyist way to get there would be getting a boat to drop u off Wink and just remember ya scales and camera coz if u get a 50lb king ur sure as hell not carrying it all the way back with its guts in and head still on... they get heavy fast.... also heard of puka comeing off boom never got one myself or seen pics or anything... but i think its possable fishing right into deep water... let us know how u get on out there if ya go...

Take plenty of water and don't walk in the heat of the day as it is a long walk! Like Little Buddy said it can be on like crazy or no fish at all. If the Kahawai are there then the fishing is usually good and always fishes better with a bit of swell slopping around. I've always found the dusk session to be more productive. Good luck and let us know how you get on.
