White Island Action!

Early December and it was time to head to White Island for some Kingy action. For many of us it was our first trip to White, while for others there first chance to catch a King.

 

We met Lance and his crew on Enchanter and were off for a night catching live bait and some sleep before trying our luck on some Kings.

The boys contemplate what lies ahead.

Lance didn't take long to find some sign. We worked 4 live baiters at the back of the boat and 2 on jigs at the front. First drift and wer'e HOOKED UP!

The livies are working a treat.

Hooksy stuck with the jigging and it soon paid off. Hooked up with a nice fish.

Meanwhile, the livies were still getting smashed most drops.

Macca playing the fish of the day. It put in a brutal fight, as did all the White Kingys leaving the guys with some battered bodies over the next few days.

While some bigger Kings managed to bust us off despite putting all the pressure we could on them, we still managed to land some tidy fish.

By the end of it, even the Kingys seemed to be enjoying themselves.

Great memories made on Enchanter at White Island. All the boys certainly keen to head back for more action. Many thanks for Macca organising the trip and to Lance and the crew on Enchanter. Top blokes, and a superb trip!
