After spending all Saturday installing a new sounder,  a 12v powerpoint, led strip lighting and fixing my radio my only problem was it was blowing fuses. So woke up on Sunday and put a larger fuse in which seemed to solve the problem it was 11:15 and I looked out to the ocean and it looked dead flat so checked swellmap and was telling me it was 5 knot easterlies and a 5:45 hightide was perfect for shallow water fishing. 1 phone call was made and 2 texts sent and within 5 minutes had a crew of 3 who were keen. So left my place at 12 and started fishing at 1:30 after being treated to some amazing flips by the Dolphins.

We started our drift in 8m of water and drifted to 16m of water which didn't produce much. So went down to 10lb leader amazing the difference it made, fish were hitting the softbaits straight away on the drop and some very good snapper were coming on the boat. There were alot of "the one that got away" just serves as motivation to head out there again and try catch them.

Snapper seemed to like the small softbaits, light jigheads, light flurocarbon leader and it being cast away from the boat. They were hitting it on the drop rather than bottom bouncing.

For only being a last minute decision to head out fishing stoked with the result. The sounder was still reading the bottom at 30 knots so very happy with how it has worked out.

Love fishing, love my job. It's a bloody shame that they clash.
