It's Southern Bluefin Time!



Winter heralds the run of southern bluefin tuna from the depths of Fiordland along the length of the east coast of both islands and on to wherever they go for winter - probably somewhere warm and tropical if they're smart!

From a largely unknown recreational fishery, it’s now one that’s a highlight on the Kiwi fishing calendar and continues to exceed all expectations, with the 2023 season delivering stunning results across both the North and South Islands.
