Sorta soft bait related so .... We have had an awful pong in our laundry for a week or so . Blaming the cats for hiding a mouse carcase somewhere ( not unfair .... they do have priors ) We pulled the place apart  ,unsuccessfully and resigned our selves that we were going to have to "wait it out" ). Anyhows today whilst installing the latest bag of stuff from Marine deals  into the general kit  I did have occasion to move the recently purchased bag of Gulp shrimp soft bait ( yeah , the ones I had to open to check out Ermm).........faaaark they dont half stink , so I finds they have leaked all thru the fishing bag .... the one I moved about 5 times while trying to find the mouse. So
If one does have to check such stuff out one must make sure to properly zip the @#$%ing bag shut LOLLOL
I wish I was young again .... Id be heaps smarter than this time

Hahahahaha great stuff McTool. I love a good smelly story. Many years ago I used to live in Papatoetoe and as a very keen motorcyclist I used to love riding to Whatipu to fish off Paratutae Island. On occasion I would take no bait and just stop off at Cornwallis to get some pipi, then catch some yellow eyed mullet and piper for bait and carry on to Paratutae.

One time I had a great harvest of pipi and I stuck them in the pocket my PVC riding jacket. I carried on to Whatipu. I can't remember what I caught but kahawai were pretty much guaranteed so maybe I went home with a couple of fish.

So far no problem. I do remember it was during one of the colder months.

Three weeks later I actually took some bait with me out to Whatipu, on my motorcycle, wearing my nice warm pvc jacket.

After fishing a while my fingers were getting cold so I put them in my jacket pocket. There was something warm in there. It was around 10 or 12 shelled pipi with three weeks of "growth'.

It took some time for that smell to go from my fingers and my jacket. Good times. That's not even the worst of the stories Big smile

I have a stink story too. Way way back when son was at primary School. Teacher had this god awful smell in the room for weeks and weeks but couldn't nail it down. Finally after multiple searches and room cleans she found the source (so to speak). Son had sneaked a few extra crayfish legs to school and hid them in his desk before promptly forgetting about them. Yum.
