Hi All, Been around a month since I last fished, far to long! Finally an awesome day and great conditions. Solo trip this time the sea was alive with gannets working all along coast. Didn't take me long to get into some big Kahawai for my Straylines. Was on the out going tide just after high and knew it would be slow going till the half out going. hour plus went by with no runs then finally a bit of action! Boated a nice fat 5kg Snap followed by some 4's and a couple round 6kg. That was plenty for eating and sharing around so decided to go big whole Kahawai heads on the Straylines to see if i could tempt a bigger model. As Ive mentioned before if you apply this method youve got to expect the lines to go quiet as, sometimes for an hour or two but if the bigger Snaps are around they will smash them and you will get rewarded with a good one! Patients is the Key. After a good hour i got a big run, hooked up and played in a good Snap just over the 20 lb mark. Happy with that i called it a day as I was knackered from lack of sleep and headed in. woke up early with fish on the brain and couldn't sleepLOL My Brother got out the following day and also had great fishing.  A couple of pics- The Snapa Slaya on beach ready for launching and the best Snap of the day. Beer

Awesome fish Geoff, certainly is a great spot. As kids many years ago we used to stop for the best fish and chips on the way down to Fitzroy camp ground for Christmas holidays.

Hi Pcj,Yep your right about The Dolfins. All along the coast here there are no commercials due to the ban.  Been like that for years. I think its up to 12ks out.Its definately improved the fishing, although its always been good beforehand.Beer
