Talking to MetService Meteorologist and asked about outlook for Christmas...

They are going for periods of settled weather but these will be interrupted by short periods of severe weather (heavy rain).

Bit of a heads up...

Sounds like a typical 50/50. Periods of fine weather interrupted by periods of crap weather.

Downpours of Aucklanders with the occasional Hamiltonion front passing thru.
With settled periods from mid Feb

Long and very dry.. The cabbage trees are out in full flower, not just early,  but very early this year.

And if never smelt a cabbage tree flower, absolute amazing. Cut one down and take inside, or even just on the deck.
