Keep in touch Krow - may have some news for you - or if you are short of crew... :-).
At the moment we are looking to get there around 7-9 Mar.

Update on the west coast, Kawhia One Base, 17 marlin, tagged/weighed, the first two days were marginal for fishing.

Kawhia at this stage has has had a great season, more than 50 marlin weighed/tagged so far.

Cheers
The only bar to frequent is the Kawhia Bar

OK guys. We are planning our first trip to the W Coast - after talking about it for several seasons and not coming up with a final plan.
Were heading toward Raglan , but a vote between the crew means now heading to N Plymouth. My preference was Raglan, but more important we are all in favour of a good trip beyond anything else.
Some intel on general gamefishing there would be appreciated.
Weather conditions that are favourable. I believe that 3-4k off shore you are in target water?
General localities to head for would be useful.
I am guessing we will get enough local info at the launch regarding route from port, radio comms etc.
Have been once to launch site without a boat. Recall a board there explaining some local protocols - parking etc.
Thanks
Alan

Wow, that's a good fish for a tiny boat!
