Marlin weighed at Kawhia on Tuesday 122 kg on Early Bird, caught out at the trench, so they are still about, we bottom fished the same day in 19 degrees.

Cheers
The only bar to frequent is the Kawhia Bar

Plenty of skippies from 45m straight off the bar at Raglan.

I heard 3rd hand someone got a nice stripey over the weekendtoo.

Water was 19.8 at 60 metres off Gannet.
It aint no use if it aint chartreuse!

Well here's my first marlin. caught 6.3.2019 at the same time the "cockies" comp was on in NP. took a $20 pink lure. the hospitality at NP is awesome, always a pleasure to visit. we'll be back for some some tag n release action next time. fish went 149.8 kgs. heard several hook ups on the radio that day

Kawhia One Base last week was good, 6 marlin weighed, 4 T & R, best weighed went 121 kg, 69 boats. The maximum number of anglers allowed in the club house was right on the mark.

1 good albie of 13+ kg was landed, no marlin for us, plenty of albies and bottom fish.

Yesterday there were another 3 marlin weighed, so they are about.

Cheers

Anyone has a spare spot, for Raglan & Kawhia, in next 12 days? Will share costs and have good gear. Marlin, preferred but happy for a bottom fish.
