Well - just thinking outside the box really Gowest, & interested in any constructive feedback whether positive or negative, especially from anyone who has tried it.
It's actually less bulky than a traditional windon (at the thickest point where the loop to loop connection is made), it's faster & with a bit of practice easier than making your own, and is certainly cheaper than buying one.
Seems to run through the roller tip OK, so flexibility doesn't seem an issue, & after bedding the knot down & trimming everything off short, it didn't budge a millimetre with a pretty severe pull test - just like braid.
Finishing it off was a bit tricky - half hitches in mono wouldn't stay tight like they do with braid, & a Rizzuto finish looked ugly & bulked the knot up a lot. A couple of half hitches then whipping the tail with dental floss came out OK.
Good to hear it works for you Makka - I practiced with 50/200lb, & I imagine the smaller size difference with 40/100 would probably be a bit trickier.
Why not ? (genuine question, in mostly lowercase

)
