...Just listening to Ch4 on the VHF right now and it appears with power cuts around Whangarei that the Ch4 Repeater has been offline for some time and also the Toots club is without power.

Vessel Seadog is heading in now with a big Striped Marlin but due to the power cut the club cannot weigh the fishCry

Gutted, I think Seadog is owned by a guy called Glen who I bought my Morgan from. Lock'n Load used to be named SeadogLOL

I feel really sorry for the Toots marina staff... the VHF repeater has not long come back online, but the Toots area has been without power for some time. The poor guy on duty has been running around like a headless chook using a handheld VHF to answer boats queries and do his best.

Alas the JAFAs in the million dollar boats are heading in and still persist on demanding fuel and the restaurant to be open plus the limosine service...

The poor guy is saying; "Vessel calling Tutukaka we are without power and electricity, I repeat without power and...

But yet they still persist, "but are the fuel pumps available...?"

So big ups to the marina staff as most are volunteersThumbs UpClap

I heard a couple of reports from a few other forum members; Dun Logging, Hooked On Protein and I think possibly Graeme OTDRMAN... they were on Ch4 repeater and quickly went to chit chat Ch6 (ship to ship) so those buggars have a few aces up their sleeves and probably a few fish to boot.Clap

After about 20 or so I started to settle down.
Lots of them jumping that had to be investigated and then lots sunning themselves on the surface that looked like bloody marlin tails.......
Nice day on the water all the same

Nice one Graeme, go hard!

I am lucky that I live quite high up and can hear Ch4 from where I live in Whg-Vegas.

So when I get home from work I can post the REEL ACTION as it happens for those interested... Bring it on mate!ClapClap

The radio has been reasonably quiet this arvo and it seems many boats are calling in and saying they are doing overtime tonight to still keep working and looking and several are staying overnight at Whangamumu.

However, I just heard a glimpse of a boat hooked up to a stripee and calling his mate for assistance to haul it onboard...but I could not hear the vessels name. So good stuffClap
