Mighty mini waka went out today
Bit breezy with that easterly
Only a snap but again great condition
Good bite just not holding
Air show was flying some planes over me so that made the day even better
Cheers

Great weather at the moment so got out yesterday
Some very nice snaps out there but man, the weed
Not lettuce, mats of brown vermicelli like weed
Hope others are getting a bite or two
Cheers

Two hrs fishing the harbour today, biggest trevally was almost 60cm, biggest snapper was 52cm. Ky, squid, bullet tuna all worked for bait.

None at all, alot of sea grass floating around and a bit of brownish weed. Spent a bit of time clearing lines. Hundreds of those bloody geese up there.

Water was nice and clear, plenty of fish in 2m or less even with a bright sun above.

Interesting when I travel over the maungtapu bridge (hwy 29) see the odd boat fishing in what looks like 2m up in the flats, think this time last yr traffic stopped as orcas were up there.

Sunday morning was great on the water. Fished up to the low tide and got some good snapper up near Omokoroa in 5m. Still lots of little ones up there though and plenty of  annoying sea grass floating. Looks like good signs through Feb and March.

Wow, I’m impressed with that, I might have to target the harbour again. I went outside on Sunday. All I got was a single 35cm snapper and seasick as I spent too long in the entrance at midtide.

No shortage of snapper in the harbour now. Should be full on up til mid May.

Fished the Chanel edges in the harbour 6am - 11am this morning and only managed 1 snapper and a couple kahawai. Still working out how to fish in the harbour. Luckily it was such a beautiful day out there on the water so can’t complain.

Good effort CN. If you don’t mind me asking, what do you mean by ebbing? Planning to try again tomorrow, thinking I might fish either side of the low tide - 4pm

Cheers
