Whitebait and kahawai everywhere along the edges of the port wharfs and bridge marina.  Things heating up for sure finally.

Worst day in years today. Tried everything at every depth off Matakana and after 7hrs on the water came back with only one snapper and one tarakihi. And to rub salt in neither of them were caught by me!
Anyone else have any luck?

We were at Motiti, one carpet shark and one barely legal snapper, so I put him back (did have a couple of good bust off's though, one just below the boat).

Spent about 5 hours on the water Friday down Matakana from 13 meters out to various depths to approx 4 km north of Karewa.  Not a thing.  No birds working, no work ups and nothing on the sounder.  Was a bit breezy, but a nice day is all that could be said for it.  I've come to the conclusion that you have to be on the water fishing at the change of light to catch anything

We’ve been doing pretty well up there during the day Barafat, for the last 6 weeks, but this weekend definitely sounds like they had lockjaw. Spoke to the neighbour today who never misses up there and he went out Friday and came back empty handed for first time in ages.
Just makes you more determined for next time out. Can’t wait!

No, long rods only. Had a couple of livies out for a while but no takers.
That's a bugger about Friday night. What size hooks are you using?

Fished the harbour Friday night went out after work, fished the start of the incoming, two of us,eight snapper and one horse kahawai.
Kahawai was feeding on small piper amongst the burley.
Nothing big snapper wise, all over 38 only one had the the whiteish fillets all the rest were primo, no noticeable difference in taste when cooked .All put straight into a chilly bin,ice bottles and salt water when caught.
Beaut evening once the wind died away.

Got these ones over the low tide last night. Biggest is mid 40s. New spot, 2m at low. Very soft bites and having to strike at them again. Pulled anchor and left them biting.

The Harbour King, at it again!

We normally struggle at Low, only catch at mid to high.

We fished a bank off Otumoetai channel after dark as pretty shallow.
Wind and tide must be right for it to be any good.
Darker the better I’ve found.

They were very shy last night also. When they're like that, I don't use the bait runner mode at all. I keep the rod tip low and slowly lift while they're nibbling away. Ideal when using recurves.

Hi ya folks

has been a little windly for the mighty 12' of late so went old school floundering.
Got a couple of beauts - plenty fillets

Question please - what do you mean by banks. Edges of channels or sand bars?

Cheers
