![]() Another nice day on the water yesterday. Managed a good bag of terakihi and snapper out behind Motiti. What was good to see was kahawai schools everywhere, so good signs that the food chain is there for summer coming up! |
![]() Looking to head out on Wednesday, never caught Terakihi, anyone got any tips? Also where are the kings holding at the moment? Astrolab? Looking to hunt some down with stickbaits. |
![]() Calcal - go into Decoro's and get some of Uncles Terakihi rigs which have tiny little recurve hooks they are deadly, all I use for bait is small bits of squid, skippy, pipi or slimey mackeral. Also I just use my soft bait outfits even in 70m of water, with these small hooks as soon as you feel a bite just lift the rod (not a jerk just a firm lift) and 9/10 times you will hook them nicely in the corner of the mouth. Can even just leave them in the rod holder and they hook themselves. |
