I can assure the cormandel western side farms wernt much better. 4kg burley failed to attract any kings or bring snapper on the bite, sounder showed plenty of life under us.

Fished at Town Point yesterday in 25m and caught a good size red snapper at 42cm, easily the biggest I have caught, nice eating.
Managed a few normal snapper to compliment it, conditions were nice till midday then westerly kicked in

Did you get out today CN, probably the best day for the last 2 weeks, its been non stop souwest winds and mostly too strong.
I had another go today as forcast was good with the intention of targeting tarakihi but I got sidetracked by kingfish which isn't a bad thing.

Good to hear you got some snapper and in good condition, there would have been a lot of boat traffic unless you went early or late.
Yesterday was the best conditions we've had for a while.
I don't expect good snapper fishing outside the harbour till next month

Middle of the day and in about six foot of water
No boats were I go
Though the pheasants do make a fuss on the shore line
Murkier the better
Shallows this time of year
Definitely not the channels

Thanks for sharing, I'm no good at harbour fishing so appreciate any pointers where to look for fish.
Looks like less wind in the coming week so some opportunities to get on the water

Got room in the front paddock for your boat if you want, but I am rural Te Puke and 30 to 40 minutes from the Sulphur Point boat ramp.

Did you get the Kingi in the harbour Greg? Sounds like there's been a few around. Im yet to get a legal King but will be giving it a red hot crack in the coming months.

Hi BOPF, that was from outside the harbour, good idea to put some effort into kingis, during December and January the snapper fishing outside is tough for me so this is a good time to concentrate on  them. At the moment there seems to be a lot around both in and outside the harbour, if you have a livebait tank then livebating works well, the challenge is to catch livebaits, I have even spent a lot of time figuring out where and how to catch livies.
I'm keen to have a go at stickbaiting sometime, that is good for the harbour with all the marker buoys about, good luck and if you have success be good to hear about it.
