Just bought the same stickbait as you mentioned, my Shimano Ocea isnt working around the marker poles so Im hoping a subsurface stickbait might be on the money. The Rapala X-Rap Subwalk Stick Bait 15cm 58g Blue Sardine, What tide were you fishing?

I can't remember what tide it was that day. Was a few months ago I think. Tide times aren't important when chasing kingys at markers. The main thing is there's plenty of current running. Early morning is best.

So I'd focus more towards the middle of the tides as opposed to the ends to try and get more current?

Makes you wonder if they are going to come at all..  Don't really like the idea of bait shop prices for the rest of the year.

Greetings all
Hope you are staying dry
Two quick ditty's:
Caught two kys of late, one had well digesting soft bait in its gut, the other had an alive mud hopper in its gut. Popped the hopper into the tide but it didn't survive.
I generally gut/bleed when first caught.
Cheers!

I normally go soft plastics of jigs on the drift, keeping nice a quite and do pretty well. Not been out this week but did well last with some good sized snaps, big kys and a few rats

Do you spend time hunting for sign or do you just drift in proven areas and hope for the best? I have no idea where to start looking so any tips to identify good areas would be appreciated.
