North of Tairua Beach. A lot chasing kingies at the south end but we struggled getting any snaps or terakihi so tried in the other direction.

Swell had dropped enough today for us to head back for another crack off Tairua.
The sand build up in the harbour means getting near the ramp 2 hrs either side of the low is fairly problematic.
No drama though - out at 9.30, back in at 12.30.
Another good feed of big tera's, a few kahawai for the smoker and the young fella nailed his first kingi - 85cm so it joined the kahawai.
Primo. But the events of yesterday were never far away from your thoughts.

I am still learning on how to read, shows sign and catch nothing,no sign and catch.  Yet sign at 15m when in 20m so have been winding up to 15m. Never really used it to find fish, rather use to find rises etc.Pity they dont tell you what they are eating thoughLOL

Gave it a crack today. The silver and blacks have disappeared as they do about this time of the year. Got a good feed of snaps on a pin NE of the Shoe and then drifting on the sand.
Planned it so we didn't get to wet coming home. I think the sea breeze today caught a few out.
If anyone is planning a trip to Pauanui, consider launching at Pleasant Point. Sand has made getting from the Royal Billy ramp to the channel a pain in the butt. You'd wanna be within 2.5 hours of the high to guarantee access. Feel sorry for the multiple boats who didn't get it right, or went where the channel was 2 weeks ago. Not a great watch when boats are getting stuck, and volumes of sand getting sucked through outboards.

Geez, almost a year between posts.
Out yesterday arvo for a few hours.
Fished 24 - 26m just north of Watchman. Two drifts 14 snaps 38 - 50cm. Few smaller ones that went back as well.
Some great sign in front of Pauanui Beach but didn't pick anything up.
Hopefully not a year before the next report.
