Fished out of paunui yesterday arvo and struggled on the snapper but kids were kept busy by big ky (2.5 to 3kg size) and rat kings. Largest king just shy of 10kg but good battles for the 8 year olds

Went out late today, did a few miles, went out behind Slipper for a look in the deep and saw a very large sunfish.

Got skunked out in the deep so came back inside slipper and found a good patch of tarakihi, ended up with my limit and got a couple that would gave gone 1.5 -2kg.

Yeah it was. We were gonna head out at 6am but as we had 3 youngins with us we pulled the pin as Nowcasting had 15-20 at slipper. Went to the wharf for a bomb session instead and still saw a few boats heading out including one that came back while we were still there

Been blessed with primo weather this week and managed three days on the water.
Took the grand kids (3 and 5) out for their first fish on Monday. They had a blast and got them back in before it all got a bit much.
Awesome to see the looks on their faces as fish came on board. Scored a good feed of Tera's and Snaps so a good day had by all.
Tuesday was another family day. This time a trip to Boat Harbour for a swim and a sea biscuit. Another great day and even followed instructions to ensure there was no fishing gear on the boat. Towed the sea biscuit all the way back to Tairua so the kid got a good work out.
Thursday was a fish with the neighbour out on my fav Tera spot. Picked up 19 in a few hours as well as some nice snapper and a few kahawai and a trev. The fishing was more steady than constant, but did have them coming in 2 at a time at one stage. Gotta love Uncles rigs!

Was good to catch up with Viscount for a few beers - sorry mate I didn't make it back with those rigs!! You know where to get them though.

Good hawl there salty, the weather was at its best. I went back to the place I showed you, ended up with 6 snaps to 58 cm but no Terra’s.

Good to have a beer with you, hope to go for a fish with you in the near future.

Hard going out there at present. Our two latest trips have not been worth mentioning. Teras hard to find and struggled to get a feed. Single figures each trip.
Heading to a warmer climate for a week and hopefully things will improve later in the month.
