Hi. Got a trip to CHCH for my 50th with a rental car thrown in. I stayed at Oamaru and Temuka. Was quite dismayed at the number of rivers and streams that have been bled dry for farm irrigation. The Temuka and Opihi rivers had good flows but distances between holes deep enough to hold fish made for long hot walks. Loverly scenery but gee! we are lucky up here in the Waikato with our streams.

Maybe I was in the wrong part of the sth isl.

Hey Uncle
ya didnt happen to see anyother fishermen (women) down there did you
Dont think Ive ever seen anyone from the South Island in here except for a person from Dunedin.
Do they catch fish there or are they still weeping about not winning the NPC.
Cant wait to catch a salmon one day but sounds as if Dunedin harbour will be the only place as the streams are drying up
