I'll respond to the war thing first. The only president that I can think of recently that actually started a war is George W Bush. That and that alone has him near the bottom of recent presidents in my mind. All the other presidents have had military forces involved in action, but that is not the same thing as starting a war. For example FDR got the country involved in WW2, thought it inevitable that the USA would be dragged in, supported sanctions against Japan that precipitated Pearl Harbour, but it was the Japanese that started the shooting.

I can read newspapers and reports and find sources. I don't just make **** up. I did not say that there is no left wing violence, I made the supported claim that right wing violence in the USA is the more common threat. I'm not sure that antifa is an actual organisation; if I'm wrong please post some evidence. BLM is not far left, any more than realising Maori get unfair treatment in our legal system is far left. TRENDS IN U.S. TERRORISM

To evaluate the threat posed by terrorism, we compiled a data set of 893 incidents that occurred in the United States between January 1994 and May 8, 2020.9 (The link to the methodology can be found at the end of the brief.) These incidents included both attacks and foiled plots. We coded the ideology of the perpetrators into one of five categories: ethnonationalist, left-wing, religious, right-wing, and other (which included motivations that did not fit into any of the categories). All of the religious attacks and plots in the CSIS data set were committed by terrorists who ascribed to a Salafi-jihadist ideology.

This section analyzes the data in two parts: terrorist incidents and fatalities. The data show three notable trends. First, right-wing attacks and plots accounted for the majority of all terrorist incidents in the United States since 1994. In particular, they made up a large percentage of incidents in the 1990s and 2010s. Second, the total number of right-wing attacks and plots has grown substantially during the past six years. In 2019, for example, right-wing extremists perpetrated nearly two-thirds of the terrorist attacks and plots in the United States, and they committed over 90 percent of the attacks and plots between January 1 and May 8, 2020. Third, although religious extremists were responsible for the most fatalities because of the 9/11 attacks, right-wing perpetrators were responsible for more than half of all annual fatalities in 14 of the 21 years during which fatal attacks occurred.

Wrong America fired the first shot which sunk a mini sub off pearl harbour.

At 7:53 am on December 7, 1941, Japanese war planes attacked the American base at Pearl Harbor. Yet just an hour earlier, the U.S.S. Ward fired at a Japanese midget submarine just outside the harbor's entrance. It is considered the first shot fired by the U.S. in World War II.

I'd forgotten that one. I'd consider that a technicality only. Shooting at subs outside your fleet harbour is not an act of war. Putting the sub there might be. And we all now know what the sub was actually there for, and the planes were already on route to bomb Battleship row, and strafe the airfields.

Thanks for the correction.

So we should certainly carry on, even if will never agree or stop ribbing each other. I don’t think for a moment we are going to agree on much, or get to the bottom of many (if not any)  of the issues. But it does  provide a vent and outlet for a few with varying perspectives,  and as I was informed tonight quite a bit of entertainment and interest  for the wider audience, especially on some of more outrageous stuff spouted.
