Fellow Smartwavers: how much fuel do you usually carry? And how many hours does this give you?

Currently I have the standard Tohatsu 23l tote tank and two 10l jerry cans. Rough calculations give me about 8l per hour. Is this the ball park?

Nice. How much are these going for?

My tote tank is in the centre console, rather than in the well at the stern; I wonder if there's any performance issues with the weight so far aft?

Nice one! The Burnsco website says this 45l tank is 363mm x 572mm x 345mm high. I took rough measurements of the well between the stern seats on OutSmart last night: 370mm wide x 570mm long by 400mm high. Looks like the well was purpose made for these tanks - hahahaha

I'll borrow one from my local Burnsco to ensure exact fit, but am quite positive about it. This will give 45l plus 23l - plenty for a longer trip.

That's 68L, more as that's a nominal capacity not the actual capacity. I make that as a 240km range using SpinKings numbers. Going on the thirds rule, that's 80km out, 80km back and 80km reserve.

Where exactly are you likely to use that much? I would have thought a pair of 23L tanks easier to manage.

cool I hope it fits, I have 2 in my boat with a 3 way ball valve so I can switch between them.

Hahahahaha... I installed this little gem on Friday evening.
Had a few hours on the water on Saturday and now the meter is blank. Guess $12 wasted.
