I had a chance to do that today the demon blood was a bit lighter and felt bit better under load but is slightly more expensive and not sure if its worth the extra money

Got 2 demon bloods and have caught GT'S up to 84lb on it. Cast poppers and stickbaits. Can't comment on the terez, never even pick one up as the demon bloods feel so good

Had a look at them to seem a bit more heavy duty than the demon bloods. Going to match it with a 10000 sustain so should be a nice lite weight set up

yeah 10000 size would be perfect for the 7'6" rod, 50lb braid and you're good to go.
definitely worth the extra dosh.

Got a 10 000 twin power on mine with 65lb JB Hollow. Very light setup and more than enough stopping/fighting power.

Sounds like the twin power is the goods pity they are not around anymore. Getting a good deal on the sustain so can't complain. Where can I get my hands on that jb braid?

Have a scout at Hunting and Fishing for the Demon Blood 7,6" - the Warkworth store had two on sale at $300 just before Christmas. I couldn't go past it at that price so there was just one left LOL. Just need to source a matching reel. As you say a pity the Twin Power is not on the market, maybe a Saragosa?

Yea I have found one for around that price as well couldn't say no haha. I looked at the Saragossa but can get a sustain at around the same price and should be the better reel should be a good set

Demon blood is the better rod for sure... But the Sustain 10000FG is a little slow in the retrieval at only 94cm per crank... Even the little 4000FG has 99cm per crank.. The Saragosa SW10000 at 102cm is a little better and made for heavier saltwater use as its sealed . Weight wise the Sustain at 555g will be lighter to use but its only the 6000 size frame with a bigger spool. The Saragosa SW10000 is 680g but on a bigger frame, pity we don't get the SW8000 Saragosa here as it has the higher ratio... Even though Shimano advertise the Sustain 10k as a Topwater reel in my opinion its nowhere near as robust as the new Saragosa's. If Shimano got one reel right in 2013 it was the Saragosa... Simple, sealed, and not much to go wrong..

Yeah the 8000 would be good. The shimano rep told my local fishing shop man to go the sustain that is a all round better reel than the gosa. Better drags and so on and I'm sure the seals would be up to scratch aswell . I no the retrieve is a bit of an issue but guess I'll just have to wind faster.... I can accutaly get the sustain cheaper than the gosa at the moment. Or am I making a mistake???

This is what I've got on my 762xh, older model but higher ratio 5.7:1 and 29lbs of drag, also came with two spools. These guys must have the only ones left:

Watch the pricing on all the Sustain range as they are about to if not already drop... But for a Shimano rep to say an SW series reel wasn't as good as a non SW reel the guy must be mad... The 10k Saragosa has the sealed drag system with washers either side of the spool and has a factory 15kg max... The Sustain is a conventional 6 stack FD system with 12kg factory max drag.... It will do the job but its not a heavy saltwater reel...

Yea the price has dropped big time!!! The sustain has the ci4 rotor in it which should be better than the graphite one in the gosa.... And different drag washers the rep reckoned it was a all round higher spec reel. Im Confused now.........?? Also heard that someone tested the drag on the saragosa and it maxed out at 8Kg but that's just a rumour.I think at the end of the day I'll get what I need out of either of them

My 2 cents. Sustain is nice if you want a lighter set. How ever my personal preference would be new Saragossa. Duel drag system is a big plus to put some big time hurt on a fish for a longer period of time.
MIB is right they are sealed with a rubber gasket from side plate to frame, Sustain is a well sealed unit in its own right however.
The new Saragossa looks and performs very well indeed! cant go wrong with either or I think it will come up to personal preference. You could always pimp out the new reel to with a bling Stella handle knob. Nice personal touch

I'm keen to hear your answer as I have a Terez - as I have nothing to compare it with your feedback would be helpful

I'm keen to hear your answer as I have a Terez - as I have nothing to compare it with your feedback would be helpful | Terez rods have an extra fast/fast action which isn't good for working stickbaits, it just pulls them out of the water and doesn't get them swimming properly. Need a medium action to get them swimming. Terez are better for working poppers, but the TDTZ150 model might work ok.

From what I've seen on the fishing and adventure show those Fin Nor Troppo stickbait rods seem to do the job nicely and at a good price too. Anybody using these?

The terez has a really short butt section making it awkward to fight fish on the hip. I found the eyes to be 2 small therefore losing casting distance and having trouble getting knot through top eye. And it was quite hard to work the stickbait. After going to the offshore my stickbaiting has improved 10 fold

I think that if the tip folds away to quickly for a stick bait then it is going to struggle to develop the inertia needed to work a popper properly. Typically popper rods are slower tip action than a stick bait rod.
I have a Terez, ( left behind by a well intentioned friend) I wouldn't consider using it for popper fishing, and only use it for small stick baits, as a last choice.
