We kept it as my popper was well down the throat and it was bleeding. No ciguatera in the GT's in Tarawa. The locals eat them all the time. I prefer to eat the smaller bluefin trevallies. Even cut sashimi of the small one's.

I use a Nomad Skipjack 150gr popper. It is my go to popper. Even caught a Mahimahi with it the other day.

According to graeme from synit a 120 gram popper is max on this rod(pretty sure i heard him say that on here somewhere) but i am familiar with the skipjack popper you are using......its not a big cup faced one is it?...ie not a blooper type......it can take max 170 gram stick.....so should be good but just dont use a big cup face one over 120.....I would have thought would be the go.

Hi LBD You right it is the small cup face around 25mm in diameter. It does not make such a big splash but so far it work very well. I am taking a few stickbaits with me this time as i had bought another Lalandi.
The biggest popper i normally use are 80gr(Alive popper, rainbow colours)
