Looking to get the Daiwa SA-Z 4500 or one of the new Daiwa Catalina 4500 reels. Any advice would be great!

Cheers

Save your $$$ and get the Catalina, both reels are virtually the same inside.

I have a 5000h Catalina and  a 5000 Saltiga . Cosmetics appear to be the only difference and so if there is a problem down the line with the magseals or whatever those that service the Saltigas will be able to repair the catalinas as apart from a couple of bearings the parts are the same .
Very happy with mine , shame they are not sold here.

Would you choose a Stella 5000 SW over a 4000 Catalina?

I have the Stella 5000SW , nice reel but the 6000SW would be the better option for line capacity on the same frame but Shimano NZ for some reason don't bring them in ...once again if you wanted one it would be ex-overseas... the 4500H Catalina is where its at, I have seen and fondled one. Again the NZ agent for Daiwa don't bring them in so the best place is Digitaka as they ship their reels free of freight costs, just the Customs you need to get around and there are ways of doing this...

Yeah, I bought a 5000SW awhile ago, but haven't used it yet as I'm not sure if I will keep it depending on how impressed I am by the Catalina I may get a 3500 one too. Was looking at getting a 6000 spool for the Stella though the price of it is not the cheapest so (good excuse) I might as well get a 4500 Catalina Big smile
At the moment Digitaka doesn't have any low gear models in of the 4500, so will have to wait.

I sent an email to Digitaka a few weeks regarding when will more Catalina 4500 low gear ratio reels be available and have had no reply as of yet. The low gear is 4.9 & the high gear is 5.7

Big smile I got a reply. They sent me an e-mail yesterday confirming payment and said it'll be sent on Monday with the tracking number e-mailed to me.
