Gidday all,

I've decided it's time to get a light jigging set and would like some expert opinions on good combinations.

I have a PE5 on a 300g Enchanter Special which is nice but I found myself dropping 100g jigs on my slow jig set on the last trip after my arms gave out ! The slow jig set is a Jigwrex 160g Bottom Ship rod with a Calcutta TE 400 and it works a jig well but I really want a dedicated set. I'm thinking of a PE3 on a 100g rod of some sorts. What do you guys reckon ?

Daveo is on the money an OD ultralight is a great rod.
so to are the L Ninga Jigstars
have you considered an ocean devil reel or a Jigstar reel to match the rods?

Have a word to Jonty Mein, Daveo's mate as he has a Synit Mantis X13 Bay Action..... it's the first jig rod of it's type designed to work both Slow Pitch type jigs and your mechanical type jigs..... Gatekeeper  has the longer version of this rod but his is set up mainly for Slow jigs....

Cheers guys, just the advice I'm after. Being in Christchurch it's impossible to look at jigging gear in the flesh without a trip north so appreciate the input.

At this stage I'm leaning towards a PE3 on a X13.
