Out early this morning headed out to Mayor for  a fist time look,
Checked some of the reefs southern side and out to the east.
Wasn't to be our day however with nothing of any significance on the sounder and also
no snapper or much else around.
Conditions were near perfect though so was good to be out on the boat with some good mates.
On the way back in we stopped on the inside (Tg side) of the island where a few boats were gathering.
We though we may catch the odd snapper but found that a couple of boats were catching kings in shallow water. Our sounder revealed quite a few handing around the drop off but we couldn't entice them onto our jigs.
Livies would have been the go and a few were caught by the guys on Grim Reefer.
photo below is of Reefer and Assassin.

Livies were def the call of the day. With only 2 fish all day falling to jigs. That's me jigging on grim reefer in the pic. We def had to work for our fish and found the bite to only be about 90mins. Mate did get his new pb of about 15-16 kilo. So he was buzzing. Conditions were amazing and after hitting every deep pin around mayor we found they were biting best in shallow water.

TJM didnt even realise it was you out there mate. Knew you were somewhere but.

Was an epic day. Steady day for some and slow for others. Hard work for sure.
Was awesome with Zac on Angler Management, Tim and Jono on Grim Reefer, Luke (Extreme 650) and James on Balls Deep the Boys on Optimus and then Alex, Millkman, the Apprentice and myself on Assassin. Ill chuck some sweet shots i got of some of the Kings from the day up. But what a sensational day it surely was. Bring on the next boat convoy.... Where to next boys? White?

Oh and Zac did you go buy that Lotto ticket you Jammy bugga

http://s84.photobucket.com/user/laxibumbreath/media/Random/Mayor-New_zps7ec86a05-1.jpg.html" rel="nofollow">

This is what we had to deal with... Pretty tough conditions really.

http://s84.photobucket.com/user/laxibumbreath/media/Random/b_zpsb3b27425.jpg.html" rel="nofollow">

So were at our "SPOT" and the boys on "Angler Management" were making a right stir. We headed over and took some Snaps.

http://s84.photobucket.com/user/laxibumbreath/media/Random/a_zps709c89f1.jpg.html" rel="nofollow">

This one is my favourite. not sure what ZAC is after here??? Thoughts anyone?

http://s84.photobucket.com/user/laxibumbreath/media/Random/c_zps00f0ae9e.jpg.html" rel="nofollow">

Then the boys in Grim Reefer asked where was their photo shoot. So we headed over and then this happened...

http://s84.photobucket.com/user/laxibumbreath/media/Random/e_zps612671ce.jpg.html" rel="nofollow">

We were literally 2 meters from them... Tim aka Grim Reefer said "something is going on down there". He slaps it into sunset and is literally jammed against the gunnel.

It was game on for Tim with a rather loud audiance to only sadly loose the fish half way through the fight.

http://s84.photobucket.com/user/laxibumbreath/media/Random/f_zps9f5e0e3c.jpg.html" rel="nofollow">

But not long after this, they were refunded with this wee nice Model.

If anyone else has any pics of the day get there up....

I saw your boat at the ramp but didn't put 2 and 2 together else I would have said Hi and introduced myself.  I went to schooner and picked up some fat as snapper and a kingi.. I also lost the livie bin over the side and had a bust off. I really should have stayed at home for all the muppetry LOL.

@TJM very nice graphic on your boat!!! looks very cool

Here's a couple of pics of our day. Was good having a fleet about. Especially with others in yelling distance.

Andy Railed up on his new PB, about a 15 kegger

Tim with a nice one + More crack then Harlem

Result of a tussle with the new Synit Mantis. Might be back over to your place to permanently 'borrow' that combo Aaron

Cheers tjm, yea im stoked with the new rig, few electrical teething issues(vhf antenae issues) to iron out but goes really well.
Hate to disappoint, but andys big one only went 12.5. Threw it on the scales and andy realised that his old pb is still untouched.still he's one stoked fisho. With a bag of kingfish steaks and sore arms one can only smile!

Yeah I was shocked on weight, I was keen to weigh it on the boat but andy didnt wanna, would have been interesting to see if it had lost much weight overnight in the ice bag. Kingys always seem to be a bit lighter then they look. Makes it easy for us fishos to overshoot it.

Thats because they were all out at Mayor. Every boat had at least three people pumping lead.

On another note... MIB we have some sweet shots of the Synit "Assassin" Mantis x35 BENT! One shot you cant even see the rod.

Great day out with a good bunch of boats.Shame to hear white didn't fire for you. But still beats a day of work. Livies always the key if the jigs won't raise them!

Gday Boys,

Agree fellas mean day on the water, nice to see all the boys out there on mass.. Reefer looks like you landed a couple of goodies, nice one, saw you drag a couple over the side. We didn't have much luck, thought we were going to be in for a thumper - mint day, loads of livies but a hard day for us.. nothing at all out deep, found it a bit weird..  ah well... glad to see a couple of you got a bite. Jack mack's don't really cut it on the dinner plate...

To be fair the boat next to us was drifting livies and they did pull a couple of what looked like 15kg jobbies.

Yea Optimus was real quiet out deep! But glad we could entertain you guys, lol shame u didnt get hit aswell, jigmaster we've found the fishing has been the same over last few weeks short hard bite times later in the day that shut down within 2.5hrs. But thats not to say there not there at other times as Marligator showes us with a 13.4kg on 6kilo on wknd from same region early in the morn!

Here is pic of my stepdaughter's (Caitlyn) first decent kingy 15.9 kg. It streched her arms a bit and she was quite sore the next day. A little later I got a 13.46 kg one on 6 kg which was a nice bit of fun, hadn't done the light tackle kingis for quite a few years. Got thos two out off Honey forst thing on Saturday morning and then went out chasing puka and bluenose, pretty dead on them only got 1 small bluenose from about 5 different rocks we fished, although Caitlyn hooked something big only to pull the hooks after a few minutes and the trace came back all wrapped up, don't think it was a puka or bass, maybe a shark.

I will have x1 X35 and x1 X46 high grade spec rods we did as show pieces to sell shortly, they will be new and unfished but will no doubt have finger prints all over them... Both have the Neuron finish but these two apart from having the Synit logo laser etched on the forgrip will have no labels on the blank so as much of the Neuron pattern can be seen.
The Black/Neon Lime Mantis in the new products section is one of them.....

MIB i had to lend it on to someone else not on our boat as i seriously couldnt put it down. I had my new Kaha to give a flex to. But yeah that wee Mantis is something special alright.

Looks like there could be some serious fisty cuffs on the deck next time we are out to see who has rights to use the 35.
