P.T..... the ocean star reel is an exact copy made by M@W of the Jigging Master reel. Personally i would stick with the original maker, JM,

reviews are not positive for M@W

JM's have one AV bearing and twin dawgs.
It is the same bearing as the Accurate Boss series now superceded buy the BX range for the past five years.
The Accurate Boss had two of these bearings the JM has one backed by twin dawgs.

The quality of the metal, machining and for jigging the main shaft size and how the arm is fitted is what counts if you are looking for a reliable long term reel for jigging.

The JM reels use a German INA anti-reverse bearing and these have proved to be very reliable and in fact I've never seen one fail. Seen a few that were corroded due to lack of maintenance. Of course, the twin dawgs take most of the strain off the AR bearing which certainly helps with their longevity.

So i guess its a case of who copied who??. JM sure have spent more on marketing and branding. Everything gets copied and made in taiwan, china or the like, im thinking would i take the risk.. Prob not for a few bucks. I def like my jms and have never had any failures of any kind. Big fish will show up ANY weak components thats for sure..
