Wondering if anyone has done the reseach ? Which lures swim well with single hooks on assist cord much like the sailfish folks use . I've always been a fan of carpenter but looks like I need to widen my horizons to find a more marlin friendly stickait that can use two or three single hooks on assist cords .  Anyone ?

Played with lots of single hook ideas down at Ranfurly a couple of months ago and found that some stickbaits just wouldn't swim regardless of how they were rigged but others were quite tolerant of different setups. Each type of bait had to have a different approach to get the best out of it so you will have to experiment lots with the baits you want to use.

The biggest problem is stopping the front hook laying flat against the body. Cable ties, tape, wire, rubber bands and imagination all need to be part of the kit. Also take some fine solder to wrap on the lure tail or trailing hook to get it back into balance. Good luck.

Yep the Orions do the job, even use them hookless as teasers some days and they still swim fine.
The nambas would be my pick especially the sinking ones

Heru skipjack( technically a small cup popper) lures go great with a single on tail, no middle hook imo
