Indeed Rob thats a great fish and I think the Angler is a better man than me as a 50+ king would look stunning up on the wall at my batch

For those that were asking:

The 51kg King was caught on an Okuma V System Rod model no VF501JSHN, the reel was an okuma - Cimeron Pro CIP80, the jig was a jiggle Jig 400g Arrow head purple glow in the dark, the fight was 30 minutes

cheers

What comes to mind is, if it was caught later on the trip, say 1 day to go would have they kept it on ice or still let it go?..

Don't think it really matters what would or could have happened, it was a great catch and good on them for letting it go, regardless of the reason why

Fantastic fish. Well done Walter.

There aren't many that size around so, much respect for letting it live.

I've been wondering when a 50 plus fish would finally be landed on a jig from the Kings. Just got to figure out how to move them down the coast a bit now.
