How about we have a second go at this. Possible date's been May 21/22. Now we didnt get a huge take up on the idea firsty time around. So in order to try and get a few more of you interested. I will put up $100 cash for the winning boat. The spero's will set the scoring. The thought was :- 1) As many boats as possible. 2) A limited area and time. 3) At least one spearo and one angler per boat. 4) Limited to a team of four per boat. 4A)Multiples of four on a charter boat. 5) The best combined bag declared the winner. 6) End of comp BBQ/pissup/prizegiving compulsary. i think that team one has an unfair disadvantage redfingie is struggling to hit anything underwater at the moment - i think reid should be paired with someone at least half decent

I resemble that remark! Count me in - Bushie may have me earmarked for things other than fish. BIG 3 FORMAT for a start - snapper, crayfish and biggest other fish. Unlimited area possibly? oR very large limited ie LB AND GB. OR Mokes and Hen and Chicks? SATURDAYS possibly preferred as a day recovery will be reqd. Russ |

Yes, Sunday works best for me too. Need a spearo though. Keriboy is asking to join us but I see he's listed on the pommy gits craft. Funny, I didn't think there were too many crays to be had inside Orakie break water - which is usually about as adventurous as AC ever gets - except when he's dumping on yo head. Also have an interested spearo by the name of Barry Waring - has dived longer than me . Another bonus with him is he takes up bugger all room. |

OK now spearos, is there anyone still after a ride for the challenge. I have a friend of my son's who is keen as a keen thing at breath holding but is quite new to the sport. I've invited him along for the challenge and it would be good if we had someone with experience for safety and perhaps to help him gain some experience. Do we have a taker? Hansen was next on the list if you refer chronilogically to the above post. Bender take him -he is very good and esp good on the crays (that might please the skipper!) Chong - what is wrong with your boat? If you need fisherman should not be a problem - far more of them than us I would think. |

Problem looming for alot of the spearos - they were to be competing in the Northern Area Spearfishing CHAMPS tomorrow but this has been postoned due to the weather (2-3m swells out of Tairua). This involves LJ, kERIBOI, WHISPERER,Hansen etc. THis has been postponed to next weekend (the sATURDAY AND most would struggle to get back). I am still keen and BH but a problem none the less - postpone?? |
