| before I leap into getting one of these is there any other brands to consider needs to be for travel though, anybody have one of these they can measure each length for me pl ,or if anyone is thinking of selling |

I have one that gets handed out to mates when they come fishing with me. For the money its good value, Mine has seen GT's upto 15-18 odd kilos. Its a reasonably slow action, and capable of working medium to large poppers, not so good on stickbaits due to the tip action. I dont have any of my jigging gear up here and so it gets used around the channel markers for jigging GT's as well, Not pretty and hard work with its length, but it saw a mate land his largest GT, mind you he did complain he was getting tired.  3 piece breaks down pertty small for travelling as well :)

My mate just picked up my Andros tonight from me to take to islands (Fiji- some remote private island he's off on honeymoon)... Problem with owning such gear is everyone will want to take it on holiday with them. Doesn't worry me as I have another stickbait rod I can use.
Good piece of kit, comes in nice travel bag but only fits in very big suitcases - mind you big suitcases can be purchased cheap and leave lots of room for lures, clothes, snorkelling gear.
Versatile and nice looking rod with alps reel seat and very nice guides, will handle good range of weights -ok for poppers -and will suffice for stick baits, not that I'm fussy.

I would reiterate what Titahi has said - good rod for the money, it will do the job you are asking of it.
My brother in-law bought one over from Aussie and it was fine here on kingies, I had a good play around on it..it will be going well back in WA too.
If you are going to ripple fishers etc there are plenty of other options in the custom rod world, How much you want to spend? I have a rod here for $1800 aus. that will break down pretty well for traveling..skys the limit.
If you are fishing a lot more then maybe a two piece and a good tube is a better idea, otherwise if it is occasional (not wanting to pay a lot) and you want more portability then go the Shimano. ------------- as dead as dead is |
