If yes, why is that most "best" times are around or near low tide? Is there a difference for boat fishing times and landbased times (as for some area landbased, the water is so shallow at a low tide that there is basically no water left to fish).

 

So if I am landbased, I couldn't really make use of the "best" times as suggested?

 

I found a couple of other "best fishing times" sites too, they all pretty much had the similar bite times, being that of an hour or two before or after low tide. And so I wondered why fishing is not optimal when it's just before and after high tide (at least this is what the charts seem to suggest).

 

Any ideas welcome. Have anyone tried those bite times?

There is way too many things to take into consideration for it to always be 100% accurate. And like you said, a lack of water for a landbased person can be a huge one.

You may fish a spot at hightide during the day and do rather well and find the lowtide is dead. Change the time of day,switch the sun off and Lowtide might come alive. 

The bite times are just indicators that take a number of major contributing factors into account. I use them for picking days that would be generally better than others. But a lot of the time i just go out when i can, and target dawn/dusk for snapper off the rocks.. and low/high tide for kings.

If you start keeping a log book, that may start to show some patterns of your own. Especially if you fish a few spots on a regular basis.
