ok, same thing happens with me. new lap top running windows 8 and IE10, i can't see embedded clips, video icon is missing and the yellow arrrow-last post doesn't work can't post photos.

tried chrome today and it all works albeit a bit slower, but when posting a vid or photo or quoting someone, it leaves the random text at the bottom. mozill firefox won't play/show embedded clips, so no good.
so, it seems if you buy a new lap top your gonna get problems using this site.

if you added the correct codecs  for firefox you will be good to view videos on here.
https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/plugincheck/

check to see you have them installed..

Hi

I can confirm there is a problem with posting via IE10 and image uploads. This problem has been identified to the software developers and they're working on a fix - hope to have an update through shortly.

The work around is as follows. Either;

- use Chrome or Firefox
- swap IE to work in IE9 mode (if you know how)

My recommendation is to use Chrome.

I'll keep you posted - but unfortunately with the rate that browsers are changing at the moment these small issues will crop up from time to time.

Cheers
Craig

As a work-around until the forum techos can resolve this problem, try typing your post into (say) Microsoft Wordpad and then cut and paste to the forums.  Not saying this will solve your problem now, but it was a work-around a couple of years ago when folks were having similar problems...

just had a look and downloaded some java updates, plug ins etc, shouldn't be this hard. crazy. hasn't made any difference, still can't see embedded clips with firefox, going to uninstall all this crap. seems there's always something else to install or update which shouldn't be the case with a brand new lap top!

Eurofisha - can you link me to video's you're trying to view in Firefox please?

My recommendation for the time being would be to view and post in Chrome for the time being. I assume you have no problems posting in Chrome?

Ginge, this reply is using chrome. how do you want the link done in firefox please?

I don't need the link posted via Firefox - just need the link to the page so i can view it in Firefox to understand the problem better. Just use chrome to post the link, PM it to me, or call or email me directly.

Cheers
Craig

ok, think i've just made a discovery. when using chrome, (i am now) and i click on reply, the flashing cursor is in the middle of the box. if i hit the back space button once, the flashing cursor will go ALMOST to the far left of the box, leaving 1 character space. if i type like this i get no random text in my post. IF however, i back space the flashing cursor ALL THE WAY to the side of the box and then type my reply, i will get the random text in the post. oh boy!

OK - I have researched this one a bit. The cause of this code;

< id="_npwlo" ="applicationpwlo" height="0">

being injected is "from a misbehaving browser extension injecting code in to the post editor".

So you can you let me know what extensions you have installed in your browser please? The quickest way to debug this one is simply turn all extensions off then slowly turn them back on whilst dong test posts. Sorry, bit of a painful process...

Cheers
Craig

found hidden extension for HP as I have a bio metric reader  on my laptop- this is the only one that could make things play up- this extension is now gone and the reader disabled- this has not fixed the problem

Euro try this mate- go to Google Chrome settings(as Built to fish said)- look in the settings for the extensions- if there is anything to do with HP disallow this function also I have found another hidden one in Microsoft for Trust this PC dont do it- it will sync all data and settings and put it in cloud,

I have fixed the random text issue but still have issues with log in details and the log in issues,just wont save any details and need to clear cookies 2-4 times per day on forum and L/top

so, to re-cap. if you buy a new lap top and it has windows 8 and IE10 (as they all do), and you have problems with certain aspects of this site, there are things you can do. download chrome and go to settings, extensions, and disable the HP website logon simplepass extension. or download mozilla firefox and download adobe flash player into this. i did this by using firefox as the browser and whilst viewing a clip, (found embedded on fishing.net) on you tube, it will say a plug in is missing. hit install plug in and it will download adobe flash player into firefox for you. then you can use firefox and see all embedded clips on fishing.net. i find firefox is slightly smother and quicker.

regards, Richy
