Looking at getting a Stradic 8000FJ, been quoted $399, although recently I'm sure I saw them advertised for around $335 either I'm going senile as I cant remember where. Anyone know what they approx retail for before I commit to one.

They have them for $319. Is the best I can find. They use to be $300 for awhile at the boat show and a few shops

Did you end up getting the Stradic mate?

I am looking at one for casting small stick baits... Anyone out there in F.Net world using the Stradic 8000FJ for top water duties? Hows the retrieve etc...

A tad slow in the ratio department if you can find the older FI it is a bit quicker.

do you think this is to do with the ratio being too slow to make the baits swim properly. and up to 15kg due to the lower drag ratings?

Cheers Cam. Do they have the "biomaster" in a HG? or just the PG... Looks like it's either the Sustain 5000FG or the Stella 5000SW... Will do some web surfing later tonight...

yeah bit to many winds to retrieve line i think and drag wasnt quit enough when fishing in foul areas will do the job for shore but can be frustrating loosing carpenters and good fish takes the fun out of it

I use one, For the money it's mint I can't fault it at all. Holds 200m of 65lb powerpro . Haven't hooked any donkey fish yet on it though. In saying that I will probably look at getting a stella or Twinpower come topwater season again

Yeah Sam the Biomaster HG is a nice little reel have had a play with one that a mate brought over from Aus he had an upgraded handle on it ,they come with a paddle style handle that feel like crap, the HG is not avaliable here yet only the PG came into NZ.
And as Campellc says 200m of 65lb pwr pro or 80lb whiplash is plenty for kings.
