does a top water rod need to be above a certain length for it to be able to work lures and cast lures properly? would 2.28m be long enough

my CD gamecaster is only 2.3m, and works sweet as, don't quite get the distance my OTI 2.6m tuner sniper gets, but gets a little better swim with some baits.
experiment casting with different weights to find out best weights before choosing your stick baits.
And yes, some swim easier than others, but be sure to experiment with different hook sizes if its not swimming well (or at all).
I jumped in & bought heaps of 125-200 gm stickbaits, to later find both my rods cast way better with 100gm or less.
I've also found you learn heaps more, if ya spend a couple of sessions down the beach (or any sheltered area) just casting/swimming/changing hooks etc. I've started to record my findings with different hook sizes on my different stick baits to find which is best for each.
So I'm not waisting time when Im actually fishing.
All that said....I'm uselessLOL
