Does anybody out there run a JM terminator II
I'm thinking of garbing one in the 300G, PE3-6 range
I don't have a decent reel yet but will be sporting a dirty ol' TLD15 on top until I can afford a dedicated jigging reel. The Idea is to use it for live-baiting, towing the odd Rapala around as well as learning some jigging skills while I save for a reel.
Interested in others views before I commit to a purchase really. Cheers

Haven't tested one fishing but had a play with one in the shop, looked and felt the business.  The old ones were very good

I fished with one (300gm) last Sunday and really liked the feel for jigging and had good power when hooked up

not used the rod but think chris w told me they have a 30/70 tune vs jigstar 40/60 tune and powerspell 45/55. higher front number means more parabolic. will work the jig great. will be a lil harder on the angler but will be fun either way. value for money they are awesome from what ive heard

I haven't heard a lot about the terminator 2 rods and am really going off the reputation of the original terminator series. Surly the new model can only be better...

W/S    havent personally seen it happen but know of 2 mm rods that have broken on kings locally. In saying that any rod can be broken and have seen a t-curve 400 go bust as well.  Really rate JM rods for kings with great parabolic qualitys.  Havent seen a terminater2 rod but would be worth checking out the new range of JM ocean devil rod arriving soon at retailers. they look the biz!

JM would never put their name to a rod that did not measure up to their performance expectations.
The Terminator II's are a quality rod made to a budget price.  The Ocean Devils are not available just yet and are also a quality rod made to a higher price.
If you want a higher performance rod, buy a Fallings.

Hi Chris,

Are the fallings replacing the evolution titanium?

Cheers,

These two are on Lady Rose out of Whanga's, great rod for the price & nice action.
Just spent the day around Mayor Island on Sunday but to no avail.
These are the heavyer ones with a PE 5 & a PE 6 or 7.

Did quite a bit of research across jigging rods reels n braid and depending on your budget there was a boat show special last weekend combo $499 for the daiwa saltist 30t matched to The daiwa monster mesh p6-8 and 300g - prolly the best value/price around to fish up to 100m deep with 50lb braid - chat to hunting and fishing

No, the Evo has replaced the Power Spell.  The Fallings rod is at a higher level again judging by its' price.  I have no intel on what makes the Fallings rod so special but it is very NICE!

5 hundy for a 30t on a MMM rod, that is a sweet deal! Did you buy one? if so remember to report back after you've slayed some decent fish. I will prolly end up buying a saltist 30t for the terminator sooner or later.. or maybe a secondhand JM pe5...
