Hi, we have 1 spare spot on a day charter with Lionel on Memorymaker next week, Wednesday 23rd May.
Fishing out of Houhora, main aim will be jigging kings at North Cape if weather allows.
Accomodation can be sorted for Tuesday at Ahipara (near Lionels base) if required.
Deacs, Grovo and I are the other 3 members of the crew. Unfortunately we can't offer a ride up as we'll be fishing LBG the prior 3 days out of Waitiki Landing and heading down to Ahipara the Tuesday night, then on home to Auks after the charter on Wednesday.
Cost for the boat for the day is $1250 +GST, divvied up between 4.

Check out website for more details on the boat etc http://www.memorymakers.co.nz - www.memorymakers.co.nz

PM me please if interested

Nah was much cheaper before...I have been out to white twice with him but lets face it Fuel is a Censored......so i can understand everyone is affected...only snag is everyones wages dont go up at the same rateLOL.
Its a great spot to go and if i wasnt going out with sanity....I probably would scrape together and join you.....someone should hop on...Lionel is one of the best skips out thereWink

Yip I think his charter ground extends from Cape Karikari to North Cape = Sick ground.

Well worth the $$$ and not only XXL Kingfish but XXL Snapper and Hapuka  and Lionel Drifts a boat like no other skipper.

IMHO The North Cape and the coastline around is your best chance to catch 30Kg Kingfish or 20pd Snapper on a day trip anywhere in NZ and without any recreational fishing pressure. All the fish below were caught in the past 5months.

Dave with a 20pd plus snapper, Below 31Kg Hapuka,

33Kg Kingfish on a Stickbait

Stef he is talking about the way Lionel reverses on the drift to hold the anglers right over the marked fish and I have to agree Lionel is as good as it gets at that!

Pretty important when jigging deeper area,s that the lines are as vertical as Possible
