Hi Guys
I am new to diving. I have just bought a float and line but no gun yet. My question is what do I attach the float to if I dont have a gun. Do I attach it to my weight belt?

Attach it to a small anchor or a single weight. Do not attach it to your person as that may drown you.

attatch it to a catchbag, dosent sound like your going to shoot much....

when i first started out Hill, I used to attatch my float to my catch bag, swim round and when i found a good spot drop it. Meant that if it got heavy you could pull it up and if you dropped it somewhere to deep for you, it was still retreavable. also made a good marker to!

Drop weights are a lot more streamlined than a catch bag and generally a better way to go unless you're after scollies.  Cray snares are way better IMO than using a bag if they're your target.

UJ, a floatline attached to your weight belt won't drown you unless you refuse to drop your belt!  BTW Hill, dropping your belt should be an easy decision.  They are made for that - so that you can drop it in a flash if something isn't right.
