left te atatu 9 30 out to kauri point by the ammo wharf ,heaps of fish on the sounder all small ,dropped the sabaki rig to the bottom 4 goood sized yellowtail (27 cm),decided to head out to the harbour bridge ,same thing ,never seen so many fish on the sounder ,moved back to the ammo wharf, hooked something big there ,turned out to be a 6 ft shark .funny thing was i hooked it the same time as my son ,broke both of our lines ,then mates wife hooked it ,broke her line ,then mate hooked it ,broke his line ,then my son hooked it again ,broke his line as well ,mongrel was playing with us .
came home with zilch but its the first time i had a line in the water in about 6 wks so at least i was fishing i suppose

Hi Empty / Ski we left Te Atatu at around 10 am. I was my father in laws Rayglass EEBEE - he hasn't had it in the water since March, done heaps of fishing in that boat and it was good to be back out with my fishing buddy - cheers "Grandad".

We forgot to take burley and ice and were short on bait as well, but still managed to get three pannies each in close to the rocks around Rakino. Got absolutely nothing over the wormbed areas. Almost all the fish were caught around 4.00pm so it was a hard days work. Great fun though. I only took my new 525mag & Gorilla stick, ev en had a livie out on it for an hour or so, Interestingly all the keepers were caught on 4 kg.

Thanks for the call this morning Ski. Sorry I couldn't make it. Mr Bean, was going to give you a call but couldn't find your number, none of the Beans in the phone book knew a Smudge.

haha very good smudgey. Went out on the 27th started at Worm Beds....all quiet except for a gurnard (you would have been proud....) and was looking like a parking lot out there so headed off to the noises, had a troll for some kingis no luck there then burled up, got hassled by baitfish for a while before a howling run on the 4kg set up produced a nice 10pdr....but that was it.......nice looking spot though......headed over to some rocks at low tide for mussells then as I started heading homestopped to regas........and then boat no start.......was just flooded but tried everything and it just wouldn't fire and then the battery went flat....out with the rope was just about to give up on it and call the coastguard when it started......damn I was glad to hear that motor go!! Stopped at Bean on the way home for 10 mins.....2 x pannies, could have been good but then came the phone call from home to point out that I was 3 hrs overdue.....
