This happened about two weeks ago, with Mr. Konishi Carpenter owner and designer at White island. On board Sivlerado. Testing some new lures and new rods.
Mr.Konishi slayed this beauty 40kg fish (weighted & released after photo) with his new Blue fish 120g blue Mac

All I have to say is those Carpenter lures are unbelievable and those rods are truly awesome~!
boys caught over 100 big king fish in three days ~ unreal action.

Some beasts there - looks like there was plenty of action - so the lures work aye

The solution to any problem - work, money, love, whatever - is to go fishing - the worse the problem the longer the fishing trip should be.

Is it part of the Gamma series? or a completely new swimming lure?

Interesting looking colour too?

Tony, I see from the Carpenter website (http://www.carpenter.ne.jp/2011.12.8.nz-king/newpage3.html) that the Carpenter guys are using a split ring and solid ring connection to the leader. Is this the current recommendation over a direct tie or a split ring and swivel?

This question has been asked while Mr. Konishi did a talk at YEEHAA last year. use split ring and solid ring rig will give the lure better action but it also makes the lure harder to swim. The leader can be caught by the hook, because the lure movement gets bigger.
The most easy way to swim a gamma is to use a chain knot on the gamma
hope that helps Thumbs Up
