These are very good strong live bait hooks ideal for lures.

Dont mean to be a downer, but these hooks lack quality. A. they are not as sharp as they should be
B.most of the eyes are not closed off correctly and have sharp cuts where the eyes are C. you have to hand sharpen them your self to make them stick... BUT.. when you do that they work really really well indeed. caught a number of kingfish off the wharf and with skull dragging you can not break the hooks...

Not so good for lures mate in that the eyes are a little small to allow a decent sized heavy-weight split ring to swing properly. Also they would need 2 split rings to get the hook to hang corrently unlike the made-for-lures hooks like the.... ummm.... get them from gourocks, are they viper or demon or something (??) hooks with the in-line eye.
However, they would be fine I guess for jigging, tying up for your own assist hooks, if you have medium-small jigs where a 6/0 is a good size.

These are what I use so I don't have to use 2 split rings , they are hooks by Decoy , I had Sam make my poppers with the hangers east west , on them I use a  Owner SJ 41s ,

Bingo! Thems the buggers! :-)
I think they may be getting in some 1/0 - 3/0 versions of these so that we can rig Sebiles and other smaller hard-bodies with singles, which will be very cool indeed.
If you need some, give Mark at Gourocks a call (09 820-8600 ext 5), he may have a better idea of their availablity.

Hmmmm.... OK. What size is that lure then? 180? The size difference is not quite as large as I had thought..., I will be interested to see what the 1/0s look like. Where did you get those other hooks there? The Pluggin' one?

Wouldn't it be nice if hook manufacturers could make their hook sizes even slightly similar.... you go for a 4/0 in one hook it is fine, yet in anotehr it is too small, and yet another it will be way bigger.... how hard could it be! :-)

Made a mistake , hook on lure is a Decoy 6/0 , and yep . it is a pain in the butt with hook sizes , as you can see the Decoy 6/0 is larger than the Owner 7/0 , what I also found was there is a difference in split rings too , Decoy will not fit a Mustad tarpon but a owner will , I had a hell of a time sorting hook sizes out .

Whew! :-) I have decoy 7s and 6s, and the thought that there was so little diff between the 4 and 7 decoys was a worry.... I have the 1/0s ordered, and want them for the small sebiles.... and was suddenly worried they'd be way too big! :-)
Hopefully not so much now....

Ummm... can't remember how many in a pack.... I thought there were 4 in a pack? I know the packs of 6/0s I got the other day had....ummm... 5 in I think. If not, then certainly 4. I usually get like 5 packs at a time, as I hate running out, and then I always forget where I put the damn things. I find little caches of hooks down the side of sofas all over the house and bach :-) It is a dangerous option exploring the linings of my sofas, I tell you! :-)
Cost....ummmm... blowed if I remember. I buy a LOT of stuff from them, and just send them a cheque at the end of the month when the bill thumps onto the floor thru the mail-box.
