For those guys that do this, whats the best technique? Do you wrap up the guide feet as normal and reverse the wrap back down before tying off? Wrap up, tie off then repeat? Wrap up, tie off, apply a coat of epoxy then repeat?  The first option seems to be the most common way of doing it, but wrapping back down the guide feet taper sounds tricky to me...

Yes wrap up put trim band(s) in and up over guide feet and back down to trim band.

MarkE , I do it the same way as skipjack , you will find you get a better finish . If you do not try to go to fast , steady steady , you will find the thread will lay ok for you , if you have some gaps in the first layer just burnish it before you go on with the second run , that will help .
