What weight would you use on 15 and 24 kg rigs used for trolling smaller skirted lures (1 foot long down to 4 inch), rapala's (cd14/18) and bibless minnows?

Two bits to this in my mind, the wind-on itself and then the short leader to the lure. I like wind-ons. I fish short handed, by choice, (just two of us most of the season, sometimes three and very rarely more) from a small boat and it works for me.

I have 400lb wind-ons on my 24kg and 37kg and 300lb on my 15kg bearing in mind I am mainly expecting to catch fish up to say 300lb - when I come across 600lb+ of Mrs Blue we'll deal with that situation on the fly - she'll be right .

I then have 6ft 'lure leaders' going down to 250lb for small (6") lures up to 400lb for my larger stuff (Andromedas and the like).

That's just what I do and remember I had an atrocious hook up rate last season

Go have a look at either Smart marine or Hunts sports in Milford and have a look at there loose pack wind-on leaders from SRM Custom Rods. They should both have 150, 200, 250 and 300 lb wind-ons in stock and the wipping on them is color coded for ease of identification.
