Hi,Have not much idea about spinning reels, I like shimano though, looking for something for popping.
Are quantum Boca any good or better to stick to Sustain 8000 or saragosa.
Cheers

Matt

Had the same thing... on one out of four, after four years of absolute abuse (think VS40, 15kg braid, jigging, poppers, kayaks, sharks etc Confused)
The other 3 are still kicking a*** like they're new

5 years warranty so you can't go too far wrong, especially at the price they are at the moment.

Have a look at the likes of the Saltist 4500 as well, awesome little reels Thumbs Up

Thanks guys, whats the diff and whats better between stradic 8000 and saragosa 8000?

difference mate in the retrieve rate from memory....about 5.2:1 for the saragosa and about 5.7 for the stradic,
also the drive train in both are different in both...
personally the saragosa I think is a better reel but the higher retrieve in the stradic is better for casting....plus it is a little lighter..

I have that rod,  use it with a boca 80, very nice set. TiCA talisman was also very nice.

I have owned the vs reels from okuma and have had bearing issues with them. I now fish saltigas and have had no issues at all. The manual bail arm is bulletproof and the build is just faultless. Just my opinion and experience you get what u pay for and if u fish 50 days or more a year for kings the gear will show its weakness eventually.

I didn't like the VS shaft been held in place by a small bit of plastic, it scares me.
My stella is like new after 2 years of abuse...VS died ages ago, bearings and corrosion issues.

Had a go on a Tica Talisman, pretty nice although not as smooth as some reels, but they seem to be well built.

I just got a Tica Talisman, for the money I think it will be hard to beat, heaps of drag and really well made.  Moved onto it from Salina 80, it caught good fish and gave a good account of it self jigging and top water but I don't think it would last forever.

I got 6months out of a salina, 1year out of a VS, 1.5 years out of a saragosa, 3 weeks out of a quantam boca and 2 years and counting out of a saltist (which has surprised me considering the number of plastic parts in this reel)

Stradic 8000FI or Sustain 8000FE very reliable and nice and smooth. Massive amounts of drag isn't the be all and end all of spin reels. Mind you need quite a bit of drag to put a bend in the Van Staal. I'd go a Stradic ahead of Saragossa, cheaper too.

Bit mismatched I'd imagine. Van Staal reels and and Van Staal rods are in a different class and price bracket, so maybe a tad out of budget for d Aluminator.
