Yes that is the Ashura Wayfu Heavy PE8 model in those vids and images you may have seen. Pretty awesome rods, nice length, not too long..  I've got the catalogue somewhere if you need rod specs /more info.
Quite forgiving in the tip section so good for working stickbaits and also poppers up to 160g poppers no worries. I've used them on Ebipops and Cubera 150's, Orion Cono Cono (all big cup faced poppers) aswell as all range of stickbaits.
They also do 2 other models in the range (longer and lighter) but I heard they were bringing a PE10 rod out also.
Getting hold of any of these is difficult, the parent company is French and not too well known beyond Europe. New Caledonia guide Etienne Picquel helped develop and test them, and he supplies them to his clients on charters. The rods have been put through all sorts of hell by all types of anglers and cope very well. I'll put up some photos of them in action.

Good luck getting hold of any though, very difficult. As Scuzzy said, may have to buy from Europe and send over.

Cheers David

No idea on price over this side of the world, they are mid range in Europe mainly because of the parent company does such big volume. (Illex <top tier>, same parent company as Jackall etc and rebadged for Europe)

A few tackle stores stock them in Noumea New Caledonia, we gave a few away as prizes at the Sydney Boat Show a few years back. I wish I bought one myself as they are very versatile and as much rod as I'd ever use.

Have a look at our New Cal vid's and you'll see them in action.

I just had a look at their website and it doesn't look like they are still in production?? http://www.illex.fr/en/index.html

Cheers David
