If you're hunting children.
Seriously though a lot of pig hunters use dogs with a bit of pit bull in them

nah not really have used pit bull crosses before....i have had more luck with cattle dog breads for pigs.
i had a staffie for pigs once he was real good but wouldnt stop till he got the pig and it was dead which was a long way some times.

They arent the best for pigs. They are pretty brave but a bit too determined, often to their detriment.  Despite all the hysteria they have been bred for centuries NOT to bite people and are real good pets for the right people. Not the best with other dogs obviously but can be socalised

I would try avoid them, due to their bigger build- they take a little longer getting through the bush than the hound/whippet halfs we used to have. Also they are too keen at times, heard people have had a lot of success with staffy x's. (Pitbulls would be okay if hunting in the pines, also take into account what other dogs you have in your pack and if they would work well together). All the best.
