If your going to bring in one blank, you might as well bring heaps and combine them. It's not a weight issue it's the length. I just bought in two 7' 1pc blanks for a customer and although he's happy to pay to have the ones he wants I certainly wouldn't pay that to ship one to build for myself with that shipping!

So, what are my options and what will it cost to buy from NZ? I have a very custom CTS SP rod and it's to die for - Blanks available and marketed... Where is NZ on the Stick bait blank scene, you don't hear much in terms of manufacture. Who has made a primo Stick bait rod from a NZ blank, above average would do. Where are we at? Go on spill the beans,
Are we (NZ):
A) inept
B) Waiting to recover R&D investment by shielding the NZ market of our success or failure as it may be until we meet or exceed global precedents ?
C) Fail
D) Don't give a damn - the mass markets not there.
E) I'm missing the point cause I had a few at the end of the week, and slightly pissed cause it's the start of a particularly crappy weekend?
F) All of the above.

Jolly give Leon a ring in Tauranga ( Offshore rods..07 5434416) he may be able to sort a blank for you. I have a couple of his 24/37kg stickbait rods on the boat . All good not that expensive either.

If people are keen to go in on a few blanks and spread shipping costs amongst, I could be keen. I have been investigating bringing one in but was tossing up whether it was worth it for a mid range rod when money was all weighed up. Bit hard to find two piece as well.

Hi,

Can you please provide a quote for supply and shipping to Auckland New Zealand of a Black Hole 78N Cape Cod Special (NANO Carbon).

How many blanks would the shipping cover? 2 or 3?

Dear Mr.Jolly,

Thank you for your interest in JIGNPOP.

We use DHL for shipping and the delivery time is about 3 days. The shipping cost is $110.00. You can put up to 5 blanks. If you like to place an order, please provide me with the following informations:

That's $134NZ so would have to do at least 3 to make it worth while, I might be keen next month. What have you been looking at fishi?

I source my CTS blanks through Leon - really good guys to deal with as they know CTS blanks inside out.

Synit TopShot GOM, 60g min lure - 20kg max drag, that's some serious versatility there. Any reason why I shouldn't keep it local??

I have not used this blank personally, but have owned in  the PE10 surface zone and that was a fantastic rod.
Not alot of sportsfishermen here in NZ have probably had much to do with the GOM blanks/rods but I believe they are very special and unique. If you look on  360tuna you will find out alot of information from people who are building and using them.

One of my friends here has one and his word is good enough for me that its a hell of a rod.

There is some very sharp ideas in regards to blank technology going on with Synit.

In practice the range of this rod would suit the size of baits we use here in NZ and the action, well it will certainly lift kingfish,tuna.......and cray pots if you have to..and all the while will be comfortable on you the angler.

If you can get a GOM blank and the advice to get the best out of it I would not hesitate myself.
